Join us for a fun and educational 3-day summer session designed for students eager to learn and grow their skills and knowledge of horses! Participants will be introduced to essential horsemanship skills, including both Western and English riding styles. Throughout the session, students will gain hands-on experience grooming and bathing horses, as well as practicing important groundwork techniques to build trust and communication with the horses.
In addition to riding and care skills, students will enjoy fun games, engaging in group activities, and a supportive environment that encourages confidence and teamwork, all before lunch! Whether beginners or those with some experience, this session offers a well-rounded and memorable introduction to horsemanship for ages 7-12.
Anyone under the age of 18 is required to bring a notarized liability release. please print out this document to have notarized, and bring it with you on the first day! Child Release
The 3-day summer sessions will be from 8:30am to 12:30pm, Tuesday-Thursday. There will only be 8 spots for each session so claim your spot ASAP! Dates for the 4 sessions are listed below: Session 1: June 2nd-4th Session 2: June 9th-11th Session 3: June 23rd-25th Session 4: July 7th-9th

Linda Dovers
Owner
Linda chose to share her love of horses in 1982 when she started Bear Creek Stables at the age of 29. She spent 36 years training horses and riders of all ages and skill levels in lessons and during our summer camp sessions, helping riders feel comfortable and confident. Linda also taught horseback riding through college programs at UT, Texas State, and ACC. Although she stopped teaching lessons in 2021, Linda is still devoted to personally caring for her horses daily. Her friendly and welcoming nature is what makes Bear Creek Stables a special place.


Elizabeth Brock
Instructor
Elizabeth started riding at the age of eight and has been at Bear Creek Stables for 12 years. She has been an instructor since 2021and is experienced in both English and Western riding. She likes to focus on connection between the horse and rider when she teaches, and she strives to help her riders build trust with the horses as well as strengthening and learning new skills. In addition to teaching, Elizabeth is currently attending Texas State University, studying Psychology and Sociology. She looks forward to continuing to share her love and knowledge of riding with others!
