Bear Creek Stables offers several different types of riding lessons for both Western and English Riding styles. Whether you are just starting out with horses or already have some experience, we can help you improve your riding skills.
Weekly Group Lessons = 4 lessons @ $140.00
Classes ride for one hour a week, are divided according to skill level, and are run in 4 week sessions. Classes will be taught by Linda Dovers and her experienced staff. You must be at
the stables 30 minutes before the listed class time to prepare your horse.
Western Horseback Riding
If you enjoy pleasure riding and just being around horses, this is the class for you.
Beginner I & II - Riders will learn basic horse care, grooming, tacking, and proper position at walk and trot. Beginner II/ Intermediate I -Riders will continue to work on control and balance at a walk, trot and lope. Intermediate II/ Advanced - Riders will proceed with the lope, leads, horsemanship patterns and rail work. (Instructor approval required)
English Horseback Riding
If you are interested in English riding and learning to tackle jump obstacles one day, this is the class for you.
Beginner English - Riders will learn the basics of horse care, grooming, tacking up, proper English positions, as well as shaping the riders muscles for jumping. Intermediate - Riders will proceed with cantering jumps, leads, and jumping small courses. Advanced - Riders will proceed with more advanced riding and jumping techniques.
IMPORTANT
All lessons will require each participant to fill out and sign
a Bear Creek Stables Release form each year. To make your first ride smoother, pre-print and fill out. Children under 18 years old who will be riding in lessons need their forms notarized.
